St. Exupéry School in Madrid
The existing building is dedicated to the Children’s Pole. In the new building, the ground floor, to the Primary Pole, and its upper floor, to the School. We reserve a strip of sufficient width in the northern boundary to provide access to vehicular vehicles for teachers, student buses and merchandise. We keep the entrance of parents with handicapped ramp and outside waiting shade. We deployed the new L-shaped building generating two large free spaces well defined by architecture: the Sports Court and the Patio that share Primary and School. We respect the existing trees as much as possible and transplant the slaughtered specimens with sufficient guarantees to the edges of the plot. We negotiate with the complicated topography based on platforms and treatments of the slopes that avoid large fillings or important retaining walls, with the formation of three levels, one per educational pole. All slopes are accompanied by ramps for the disabled. We accentuate the ends of the L with visible gestures, double height spaces with sloping roofs and large windows., Focused and with direct access to the large recreation areas.
