The VIP lounges of ARCO offered two unique experimental opportunities to activate a space beyond its program. For the 2008 edition a membrane built with the cardboard tubes from carpets of the exhibition spaces themselves created a periphery of cellular areas.  The membrane made of black tubes creates a dark space, fluid and cave-like. Both editions coincide in the simplicity and accessibility of its base materials and their structural optimization, thus converting the cardboard tubes, an originally weak material, into systems with both esthetical and functional qualities.
