The project aims to create a unique identity; a re-foundation of the place based on the three elements that define it: the natural agricultural medium with the central promontory, the artificial medium created by architecture and the spatial medium that contains the selection and recycling process in its interior. Therefore we chose a synergetic arrangement of the parts where some are leaning on others creating an effect of mutual dependency and of natural-artificial unity. From the visitor centre the visitors contemplate a series of terraces falling like tesserae of different size and treatment that form an artificial landscape dissolving into the natural defined by agricultural properties. The natural topography, the gravitational nature of the processes and the clear height required in each case are the factors generating this unreal garden. The visitors can read and understand the whole process from the unloading of the trucks to the storage of the recycled sub-products. Thus the plant acts as a great generator of public environmental sensitizing.
